How to Make Money for Kids
Should Kids Make Money?
Kids get an allowance, right? They can allowance and that’s plenty of money. Why do they need to make money? Some kids to get an allowance, and many don’t. Even the ones who do, often don’t get very much. If they want to be able to buy the things that they want, they need to make more money. I’m not saying they need to get a full-time job in be making a few hundred dollars a week, but there are many great ways for kids to make money.

Do More than an Allowance
Often kids will be paid an allowance by the parents for doing chores. They have their regular weekly chores and get their allowance. If you’re a kid and you want to make a little more money, why not go little further? Ask your parents if there’s anything you can do around the house to get paid for. Volunteer to clean out the refrigerator, washed the windows, wash the cars, we the gardens, etc. You can do pretty much anything that you normally wouldn’t do.
Why stop with your parents? Go around the neighborhood and ask the neighbors if you can do anything for them as well to be paid for. You can read their gardens, mow their lawns, rake the leaves, clean their houses, etc. If they like your work, they will bring you repeat business and ask you to come back time and time again. Before you know, it you’ll have your own little business.
Work
Adults work to make money, you can do even if you are a kid. My first idea for you is to ask parents and neighbors if you can help them around the house. You can do even more that works and that if you want. If you’re old enough, you can start babysitting. If you don’t like babysitting, you might want to start your own lawn mowing business.
Do you know anyone that owns a small business? Maybe you have a family member who owns a hair salon or you know someone who has a restaurant. Ask them if you can do any cleaning for them as a job. If you are doing simple tasks, you might be able to get away with being younger. As you get older, you will have the experience to get a better job.
